                LASH FAQ's

How do I prepare for my lash experience?

Getting lash extensions is a spa-like experience.  Many clients even fall asleep!  Caffeine and other stimulants are discouraged as they make your lashes "flutter" and do not allow you to fully relax and enjoy yourself. Come to every appointment with clean lashes and minimal makeup.  Please do not use oil-based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the application.

Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

No!  Eyelashes have an average life cycle of 30-90 days similar to your eyebrows and the hairs on your head.  Natural lashes fall out along with the extensions as they shed.

Be sure not to pick, pull or play with your lashes to prevent any natural lash damage.

How long will my extensions last?

Typically, extensions will last 4-6 weeks.  To keep the full, fresh look that you received at your initial appointment, it is recommended that you come in for touch-ups, also known as "fills".  Classic lashes will need fills 2-3 weeks and volume lashes every 3-4 weeks.  Following proper aftercare will ensure the best results!

Lash after care

Show your lashes love! With proper aftercare, your eyelash extensions will last longer. Here is some advice to help you keep your lashes looking great!

  • Do not wash eyes or shower and avoid crying, sweat and steam for 24 hours after lash application.

  • Take special care around the eye area when cleansing your face. Use an oil free cleanser such as baby wash dilluted with water daily.  Be gentle, do not scrub or rub your eyes.

  • Avoid any type of oil-based product around the eyes. The oils in these products will break down the adhesive and cause the extensions to fall off.

  • Never use an eyelash curler on your eyelash extensions. This can permanently damage the eyelash extensions as well as your natural eyelashes.

  • If a lash goes astray, brush with a lash wand gently from mid lash to tip.  Do not aggitate the base and limit brushing to once daily.

  • Mascara is not recommended, it will break the bond between lash and glue and cause premature extension loss.
